| Breaking News |  | Friday, September 26th, 1980: Molina Hits .347 to Earn ML Crown
César Molina of the Boston Big Digs capped an impressive season by winning the Mays League batting crown. The 26-year-old Molina, who hit .347, proved to be a tough out for opposing pitchers all year long. Included in his stats were 215 hits, 38 home runs and 115 RBIs. He also scored 120 runs and played in 153 games.

His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing César Molina was rewarded with the Mays League Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy Boston Big Digs center fielder hit .524 while collecting 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 2 home runs and 4 RBIs.
