According to team officials, Texas Timewarp first baseman Randall Wiersma has been diagnosed with the flu and could be sidelined for up to 1-2 weeks.
This year Wiersma is hitting .258 with 22 home runs.

 | Friday, August 8th, 1980: Sommers Hurls South Beach to Shutout Win
William Sommers was in command in his outing against the Texas Timewarp. He hurled the South Beach Sunburn to a 2-0 shutout victory, yielded 2 hits and chalked up 6 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"A complete-game shutout. That's fun territory for me," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I had good balance and mechanics and was able to keep the ball down. When I do that, good things happen."
This year Sommers has a 17-3 mark in 24 starts with a 2.70 ERA. He has given up 146 hits in 189.2 innings, struck out 149 and issued 27 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .209 batting average against him.

If you can't hit 'em, you can't beat 'em. That was the story today at the New Glarus-Texas clash at Green County Stadium. Brewmasters twirler Elroy Taylor gunned down 15 Timewarp via strikeouts and beat them 9-3. In a superb performance he allowed 6 hits and issued 2 walks for the victory.
In the current season in 19 starts, Elroy Taylor has a record of 7-7 with 130 strikeouts in 120.1 innings and a 4.26 ERA.
