| Breaking News | | Saturday, October 1st, 1977: South Beach Beats St. Louis 4-1, Beatty Ks 15 Troy Beatty of the South Beach Sunburn was something to behold at Bayfront Park. He was on fire and fanned 15 Storm en route to a 4-1 victory. Beatty shackled St. Louis on 5 hits and gave up 3 walks in an outstanding performance.
"That's as good as I've ever seen him throw," his manager said. "I've never seen so many bad swings in my life. These guys didn't have a chance."
Beatty had very little to say to after the game. "We won and that's the bottom line. The Sunburn don't play for stats -- we play for wins. And we love to beat St. Louis."
The St. Louis manager wasn't too happy with the game. "He may have gotten some help from the umpire. But he pitched a very good game. You have to tip your cap to him."
This year Beatty has worked 240.1 innings with 240 strikeouts en route to a 23-5 record and 2.02 ERA. | | Wednesday, September 21st, 1977: Injury Sidelines Carl Weeks for Season Doctors in St. Louis said Carl Weeks may not play anymore this year.
