Orchard Park center fielder Hubert Gass could do no wrong in today's 13-3 win over the Eagles as he collected 5 hits.
"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Eagles said to the press corps after the game.
Gass agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
H. Gass walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off R. Colunga in the 8th.
Gass is hitting .264 this year with 2 home runs and 37 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .320, 31 walks and scored 44 times.
