However, the Lightning put a chill in his bat, at least for today, and held him hitless in 4 at-bats during the Latrobe 5-4 triumph at Terrapin Station.
Bosquet is hitting .325 this year with 4 home runs, 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 40 hits in 123 at-bats, 10 walks and a .373 on-base percentage. The Vienna second baseman smacked 1 hit against Purcellville in today's game at Terrapin Station to extend it, but he has mixed emotions about it.
After losing to the Purcellville Peacocks, Bosquet told reporters, "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose."
O. Bosquet hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
In 1977 Bosquet is batting .333 with 4 home runs and 21 RBIs. | | Tuesday, May 10th, 1977: Rothermel Twirls Shutout Allan Rothermel of the Bowie Knives was on top of his game today. He tantalized the Vienna Buzz with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 9-0 shutout.
In the postgame comments, the Vienna skipper said, "He had the changeup working. You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Bowie hurler had 7 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 4 hits in his complete game effort.
Rothermel told reporters after the game, "To be successful in this league, you have to keep the ball down. If you don't, they'll make you pay."
This year Rothermel has 3 wins and 2 losses and a 3.66 ERA. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Rick Wheeler | torn tricep muscle | 3-4 weeks | On DL, eligible for return | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 32-31, .508 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 3.0 GB | | Record at home | 16-16, .500 PCT | | Record on the road | 16-15, .516 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 1-3, .250 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 8-9, .471 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 8-17, .320 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 24-14, .632 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 1-9, .100 PCT | | Record in April | 18-9, .667 PCT | | Record in May | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in June | 1-7, .125 PCT |
