| Breaking News | | Friday, May 27th, 1977: Dehoyos Pitches Lightning to Shutout Victory Alan Dehoyos of the Latrobe Lightning was on fire against Falls Church. He shut them down 6-0 on 3 hits and no runs with 5 strikeouts and 6 walks.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Dehoyos said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
His record this year is 4-5 in 11 starts and Dehoyos has a 2.68 ERA. | | Saturday, March 26th, 1977: Suspends McDill Falls Church left fielder Christopher McDill was ejected in the game between the Frenzy and Bulls for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade against the home plate umpire after some calls didn't go the way he wanted. McDill was incensed in the 8-0 loss to Bradford and was just as angry after the game.
"These guys are a joke. How can people expect to take this game seriously when you have games like this?" McDill said in the locker room after the game.
Now McDill must face the consequences of this actions. League officials released this brief statement to the media: "We are regretful that McDill has taken this to the level that it has reached. The league will not tolerate this type of conduct. Due to his actions during and after the game, the league is suspending him for 3 games."
