| | Monday, April 4th, 1977: Rumley Strokes 5 Hits During a player's career, there are days that stand out, and this day was definitely special! Errol Rumley went 5 for 5 against the Spalding Aeros at Port Clark and the Moo picked up a 9-5 victory.
He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 5 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted first baseman was really enjoying the happiness of the moment in the press room.
"He was patient up there today," the Superior skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly agressive. Rumley has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes."
E. Rumley doubled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off M. Soto in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off J. Chavez in the 9th.
