According to the voters, Andreas Ramos of the Biloxi Hurricanes had the best week of all Williams League hitters as he was named this week's Player of the Week.
The shortstop's accomplishments include 9 hits in 18 at-bats, a .500 batting average, 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
In the 1977 season Ramos has hit .336 with 4 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 16 runs.

| Monday, May 2nd, 1977: Ramos Selected WL Player of the Week
At the age of 28, Andreas Ramos might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Biloxi shortstop put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the Williams League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 11 hits in 24 at-bats, 1 home run and 7 RBIs last week in 6 games.
In the 1977 season Ramos is batting .314 with 33 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 13 times and batted in 15.

 | Sunday, May 1st, 1977: Year Ends for William Boothby in Biloxi
Biloxi first baseman William Boothby could miss the remainder of the season because of a herniated disc. He exited yesterday's Bradford game after injuring himself while colliding with a player at a base. The original diagnosis said Boothby would be out 8 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.
"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
Boothby is currently batting .188 with 1 home run and 9 RBIs.
