    Mythbusters: MLB

So I was thinking it would be fun for Mythbusters to do an all baseball episode.  Here are a couple things I thought of they could do, can anyone add to this list?

    - Is sliding into a base faster or slower?  Especially first base.  Head first or feet first?

    - The gyro ball, does it exist?  How much curve can be put on a ball in a short length of throw?

    - Maybe corked bat experiments, or juiced ball experiments.  Or humidored or frozen ball experiments.  How about a mushball?

    - I love the knuckler, there's got to be something they could do with that.

    - Aluminum vs Wood.  Is aluminum really more dangerous?

So let's hear it!  Anyone have any good ones?

    Big Smile

Oooo, I just thought of another one that'll fit right in with the show!

If you hit a baseball into the lights, ala "The Natural", will the lights spark and blow up?

Those guys love blowing stuff up, that would be a good chance for them to do so.

A most excellent idea, Gnorst.  How about: what gives the best break on a curveball - crisco, bardol, or vagisil?

Well, if they used Viagra on their Christmas trees (and it worked!), then why not Vagisil on their balls?

    Wink

What about emory boards, or fingernail cuts or scuffs on the baseball.  Maybe that could be asked as "What would be the most effective way of cheating as a pitcher?" or "What illegal extremes could they go to for finding the best curve on a ball?"

or as a hitter - weighted bat?  corked bat?

and legally (in college, anyway), settle flex handles vs. non-flex handles.
