Still no worky, I can't import the game file.

Here are the steps I take. (By the way, I'm running Vista)

1. I download the file that Emrys posted and extract it.

2. I copy the .LG file and all the sub folders to the Saved_Games folder.

3. I run the game and it asks me what league I want to open and I select the BBL league file and it opens and everything looks good.

4. I click "Check for updated league files" and I am prompted with "Do you really want to download the online Files?..blah blah blah".  I click Ok.

5. It looks like it's opening an FTP conncetion (I've tried it with and without my firewall enabled) and I get "Error: Could not get file information"

Did you get the latest file I posted, the 40 something MB one?

Yes sir I did and thank you.  That is the file I downloaded in the steps I posted.  I'm going to see if I can find a solution on the OOTP boards.

Just to let you know I can export just fine, it's the importing of the new league file that errors.  So go ahead and sim and I'll see if the suggestion I received on the boards works.

I don't really want to sim if you can't export, so let me know if you want to make/modify FA offers, or whether you're set.

So you've tried downloading the league file since Tuesday's new file, right? Same problem?

What OS are you using? If it's Vista, it's possible you have a junction issue or something. (junctions being the file system pointers, which are different than shortcuts, and on pre-imaged systems they are sometimes broken. I had issues with my Sony Vaio because the image they built it from was on a Y drive, and my junctions were all pointing to the wrong place.)

Go ahead and sim I have no more offers to FA that I want to make.  I'm going to work with Gnorst this weekend to get this fixed.

Zayx, did you have a problem running OOTP 8 when you first installed it on Vista. I just got a new computer today, which came with Vista, and when I click OOTP8 to run it, nothing happens. Did you ever have that problem?

I'm running OOTP 2007 (I'm not sure if that's the same as OOTP8)  OOTP 2007 will install and run fine and I can export files but I can't import the league files.

Okay. I reinstalled the game and now it is working fine. I was able to download the most up to date league file, so no problems for me now. Zayx, are you sure that your game is up to date with the latest patch. I think that may have been why my game wasn't working in the first place.
