How to Install Windows Live Writer

1. Go to the Windows Live Writer Beta site. (open it in a new window by right-clicking on the link, so you have both open at once)
2. Download the installer on the right. It is an MSI installer file (4.7MB), so choose to open or run it rather than save it.
3. Once the installation has begun, agree to their terms and click next.
4. When you get to the Congratulations screen, uncheck the "Install the Windows Live Toolbar". This is an optional thing and you probably already have a Google or Yahoo toolbar anyway. Click Finish to complete the installation.
5. Start Windows Live Writer from the Start Menu.
6. When the Welcome Screen appears, click Next.
7. At the Choose Blog Type screen, select "Another weblog service", and click Next

9. At the Weblog Homepage and Login, enter the following (with YOUR username and password), then click Next.

11. At the Select Web Blog screen, select your blog, then click Next:

13. At the Select Provider screen, type in the following and click Next:

15. The program will then attempt to connect to Cowland and detect the settings that should be applied to your blog posts locally:
16. A box may come up saying it was unable to detect the template settings. Just click OK, and we'll fix that later:

18. You'll get the Configuration Complete screen showing the name of your paper, where you can click Finish to complete the installation:
