Windows Live Writer - Inserting Images into a Post

Inserting an Image from the Web into a Post

    1. While creating a new post, you can click on the Insert Menu and Select, "Picture from Web..."
    2. This will pop up a box that you can insert the URL from an image on any other web page into.
    3. Once the image shows up in your post, you can resize it and format it to your likeing.

Formatting an Image from the web

Once you've inserted an image from the web, if you click on the image, you'll see formatting options show up on the right-hand column.

If you wanted your image to show up to the left or right of your post (like the one above), change the Text Wrapping option.

I find that pics look better in my posts when I set the Margins to 10 all the way around. That way you won't have text butting up against your images.

Making an Inserted Image a Link

Once you've inserted an image, you can select it and click on the Image tab on the right-hand column.

Here you can rezize the image (which you can also do by clicking and dragging on the little boxes at the 8 points around the image border).

You can also change the "Link to" option to point to a webpage URL (as shown above). When you do this, a box pops up that you can paste the URL of the page.
