    Draft Discussion Thread

This is a thread dedicated to all things draft.  Post here to discuss your picks, lament  players who were picked right before yours, and most of all making fun of each other's selection.

    I'll Start...

It was really close for me between Robinson and Molina.  Robinson has very high ratings for just 19 years old, however I've had a horrible track record with lefties.  I went for the better all around Molina - a switch hitter, who should be able to get on base with walks a ton.

Biloxi then went for Robinson, a good match since that is his home town.

To the tune of "If I only had a brain" by the Scarecrow

    (Zayx)
I could wile away the hours
    Conferrin' with the flowers
    Consultin' with the rain
And my head I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a pick

    I'd unravel any riddle
    For any individ'le
    In trouble or in pain

    (Gnorst)
With the thoughts you'd be thinkin'
    You could be another Lincoln
If you only had a pick

    (Zayx)
Oh, I would tell you why
    The ocean's near the shore
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I'd sit and think some more

I would not be just a nuffin'
My head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain
I would dance and be merry
    Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had a pick

    ROFL!!!

Yep, I'm singing the same refrain!  I think this is the first time I've ever traded my 1st round pick, although maybe I'm saving myself the embarrassment of picking a dud in back to back years.  My first rounder last year didn't just take a talent hit, he took a severe talent beatdown.

And Texas did well enough that I'm not picking till pretty late for them, too.

BTW, Doza, nice pick!  I would have gone with him, too.

I wish we'd do three rounds just so I could actually pick someone for NY, but there probably isn't enough left at that point to justify it... and who knows how long it will take to get to the end of round two anyway.  I thought about trying to trade back into the draft, but I don't think I have anything I can offer, so I'll join in on that chorus of "If I only had a pick!"  Cool

Glad to have you aboard Doza!!

I picked, and changed the email list to see if it'll work now.

    Re: Draft Discussion Thread

That makes me think of another song.  It's called "Too much time on my hands".

    Smile

I'm happy with getting the only good pitcher with my four pick, I didn't think he'd make it that far.  Especially since he really is about the only good SP prospect.  Then I can use Zayx's pick to grab one of the top six batters and I think it'll be a good draft for the Moo.

It's all a gamble of course, but I like drafting!

Is it just me, or does it seem like the draft has been stuck at Buzz for about a week now?

    Re: Draft Discussion Thread

Well, it may SEEM like a week, but I think it's been stalled since Friday night or so.

I've been trying to contact Toriq for his pick, but no luck. I normally don't auto pick during the first round, but I'll probably do so tonight for Vienna.Sad
