    Latrobe and Falls Church Trade

The long-rumored Falls Church firesale finally got underway today as the Frenzy sent SS Shunsen Tarozaemon to the Lightning in return for third base prospects Marcus Aylward and Walter Greenwood, as well as a 2nd round draft pick. With this trade, the Lightning get significant offensive help at shortstop, which had been an offensive black hole all season. Frenzy general manager Jarien said he regrets dealing Tarozaemon. "We'll miss Taro. He was a real class act. The first class act we've had in this town in a long time." Of the prospects that they received in return, Jarien said, "People may be laughing at us now for drafting two third basemen to play behind our current all-star third baseman [Arthur Eicher]. But now we have a good stockpile of third basemen, and we'll be the ones laughing when the revolution comes." Jarien refused to elaborate.

So, in easy to ready format:

    Latrobe receives SS Tarozaemon (majors)

Falls Church receives 3B Alyward (majors), 3B Greenwood (A), 2nd round pick in upcoming amateur draft

    Trade confirmed.

GM Berd had no comment, because his jaw was wired shut.  His jaw was broken by a SP Philip Summers fastball earlier in the day.  The radar clocked it at 95.8 mph.

"That was the hardest fastball I have thrown...ever," the sophomore hurler stated "too bad it was in batting practice." (It was also 10' outside)

Summers has hit 10 batsmen in 7 Major League starts this season.

    "Tarozaemon?  Who's that?"

At this point GM Berd had to be restained from attacking Summers by several of his teammates.
